SEN Teaching Assistant

Our single gendered client secondary school located in the Manchester area is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them in September 2019 ideally at the beginning of the new academic year. This is a full time Teaching Assistant position for the first autumn term in the first instance with the view to progressing onto a school based contract thereafter with the school. The successful SEN TA will be working with all year groups, supporting students with special educational needs and providing one to one support to higher ability year 10 and 11 students. Confidence and motivation is imperative within this role, with the SEN TA benefitting from being part of a highly supportive team of Teaching Assistants.

The school is an outstanding single gendered secondary school based close to the central Manchester area. It is therefore easily accessible via public transport but also has a large secure on site car park for those travelling by car. The school is housed in a traditional grandiose building.

• Earn in the range of £1170 - £1250 per month

The school's SENCO oversees the support staff within this large secondary school and is keen to have the successful SEN TA start as soon as possible close to the beginning of the academic year. The school are therefore looking for an effective TA who has the ability to engage with students aged between 11 and 16 but is flexible and adaptable in their approach. The school is highly supportive of all staff and will offer the successful TA various training opportunities.

The school are always looking to support staff with the Head of Science and Maths specifically running after school sessions to provide in house learning for all support staff so that intervention can be provided and allowing all staff to feel more comfortable supporting higher ability students in years 10 and 11.
