We are looking for Primary or Secondary trained teachers with experience teaching pupils diagnosed with autism spectrum condition or are confident with EHCPs. There are two SEN Teacher positions available in a newly opened school based in Twickenham with one to start in June 2020 and another in September 2020.
The school recently opened in 2019 and are looking to expand in September 2020 and open a new primary department.
Teachers of all subject specialisms are welcome to apply but a willingness to teach across the curriculum is required however this will be adapted to each pupil’s learning needs. Training will be provided, and all new SEN teachers are expected to be open to development.
Required:
- QTS or PGCE qualifications or UK recognised equivalent
- Primary or Secondary teaching experience
- Experience planning and teaching pupils with autism or EHCP
- Full-time availability to work in Twickenham from June 2020 or September 2020
- Having experience with Team Teach, PECS, Speech and Language Therapy, Music Therapy or Art Therapy is highly beneficial due to needs of the pupil but is not essential
What will I do?
- Plan lessons based on the individual learning needs of up to 8 students in KS3 or KS4 diagnosed with autism spectrum condition
- Observe, record and access pupil’s progression
- Utilise resources provided in house and specialist staff in class to provide best outcomes for pupils
- Work closely with a highly skilled team of specialist teachers, support staff and therapists
- Work closely with parents and multi-agencies providing care to pupils
- Manage and promote positive behaviour in class and around school
- Ensure the safeguarding of each child is upheld under your care
Location: Twickenham
Role: SEN Teacher working with pupils across Year 7-9 with autism, speech difficulties and challenging behaviours
Duration: June 2020 start working each Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm with opportunities for extensions and permanent contracts available
Pay: GBP130 - 175 per day (paid on a weekly basis)
