SEN Learning Support Assistant

  • Full- time, Monday to Friday
  • Working hours 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • ‘Good’ Primary School in Clitheroe
  • Competitive rate of GBP10 - GBP12.50 per hour
  • SEND experience within the education sector required

Due to a gap in staffing, a reputable Nelson Primary School are looking to source an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant. The role will commence in March 2021 for the rest of the academic year, with the view for the optimum candidate to be made permanent. You would be working on a full-time basis (Monday-Friday) supporting a chid with additional needs within the reception class. The child requires constant support with their mobility and academia. The child is able to walk but tires easily and therefor requires assistant when out on the playground etc. The pupil’s behaviour is excellent and they have been described as an ‘incredibly pleasant child’, although speech is limited, they are able to communicate through basic phrases and can recognise some written words.

 The successful candidate should have experience of working within the education sector and should be confident in supporting children with varying additional needs. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you would provide additional aid in lessons whilst also working to ensure the pupil can develop their independence and confidence. The school are looking to employ someone with SEN experience.

The Primary School is situated in the centre of Burnley and is two-form entry. The school has a supportive and long standing SLT who encourage staff to undertake a variety of CPD courses throughout the academic year.To be considered for the role, you must be passionate about the wellbeing and safety of children. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
