SEN Learning Support Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Specialist SEN school looking to recruit Teaching Assistants to work full time in the new academic year.

The school caters for pupils’s aged 3-19 with Autism (verbal and non-verbal), associated learning disabilities including emotional/mental health needs and communication difficulties and profound & multiple learning difficulties.

Each pupil receives an individualistic intervention programme based on learning through rewards. Most pupils will work 1:1 with a key Teaching Assistant who will observe, track progress and record the data on charts. 

Successful candidates:

  • Personal or professional experience with Autism
  • Special Needs Experience in a mainstream and/or SEN setting
  • Resilient and comfortable managing behaviour
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Quick at learning and adapting to change
  • Passion to work with children
  • Eager to take on additional training in the SEN field 

All staff are expected to work Monday- Friday (8.30am- 4.30pm)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
