Reception Teaching Assistant

  • Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8.45am-3.15pm)
  • GBP10.20-GBP12.70 p/h
  • Accrington (BB5)
  • Start date: Monday 10th May

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Primary School in Accrington (BB5) who are in need of a skilled Teaching Assistant to work full time in the Reception class. The Head Teacher has expressed that they are looking for a skilled Early Years Teaching Assistant who has the ability to support children who are new to school, children who aren’t ‘school ready’. The successful candidate will assist with basic reading and writing activities, supporting in the outdoor provision and would need to feel confident delivering Interventions to small groups of children within the EYFS class.

To be successful in this role the candidate must be dedicated and passionate, have an encouraging personality and will be able to help the class make positive progress throughout the year. The position is to start in March (depending on Government guidelines) and will be full time until the end of the academic year (July 2021). There is also the possibility that this role may become permanent depending on the candidate. The role requires a level 3 qualification or higher as you will be expected to work alongside the class HLTA to cover management & PPA time for the class teacher.

You will need to hold the following; 

  • Experience in EYFS or School environment
  • Available for full time work
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about the Early Years Sector
  • Level 3 qualified or above
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • Experience of delivering Phonics

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
