Maths Specailist Teaching Assistant required in Wigan

Job description

Have you completed a mathematics degree? Do you have some experience working with children? Are you considering starting a career in teaching?

If so a larger than average primary school located in the Orrell area of Wigan, which has been graded outstanding by Ofsted and described as a beacon of hope, is currently looking to appoint a graduate who would be able to work alongside a class teacher and additional support staff in order to carry out small group and 1:1 maths interventions. The role would be to start September 2019 and would be for 35 hours a week.

In order for you to be successful you will need to:

  • Have experience of working/supporting children either within or outside of a school setting.
  • Hold a minimum of a 2:2 degree in mathematics.
  • Experience tutoring is desirable.
  • Have aspirations of becoming a teacher or desire to build a career in a school setting.
  • Be a good communicator and be able to work as part of a team.
  • Be adaptable and flexible.
  • Have a strong passion to make a difference and ensure that all pupils are able to succeed.
