Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large RC Secondary school in Salford. A position has opened within the Support department for a Learning Support Assistant to work with identified pupils in Key Stage Three. This position is due to start with immediate effect and will initially be available until the end of the academic year. The successful Learning Support Assistant will have the opportunity to gain a fixed term contract with the school in September 2018.

  • Full time Learning Support Assistant position
  • Working with pupils across Key Stage Three with additional learning needs
  • Supporting and reporting directly to the school SENCO
  • Tracking progress and delivering intervention sessions with pupils
  • Earn up to £300 per week and gain invaluable school based experience

**Previous experience working with young people in a Youth Work or Learning Support capacity is essential to be considered for this role**

The school has recently created a larger Inclusion Faculty to provide a targeted support network for pupils with a range of additional learning needs including; ASC, ADHD, SEMH and attachment disorder. As a Learning Support Assistant, one key role will be to work within the Inclusion Faculty working with students who require guidance whilst using the facility.

Situated in central Salford, our partner Secondary school is larger than average with over 1,200 pupils currently on roll. For drivers, there are direct routes to the school via the M602 motorway, and public transportation links from Bolton, Wigan and central Manchester also lead directly to the school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
