General Teaching Assistant - York

  • Contract Type: Temporary, Supply
  • Hours: 0830-1530 Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
  • Pay: £57.00 - £71.25 per day

Teaching Personnel are looking for an enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join their successful team of staff in York. You will be supporting Primary and Secondary pupils with a range of additional needs such as autism, learning difficulties and speech, language and communication needs. This could be on a 1:1 basis or within the general classroom environment.

To be a successful Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Counsellor or Sports Coach
  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, Level 3 Diploma or NVQ or Degree in a relevant Subject
  • Be calm, approachable, flexible and charismatic in order to engage and build a rapport with pupils
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills in order to liaise with other staff members, families of pupils and outside agencies such as Health Care Professionals
  • Have a genuine desire to support pupils with Special Needs
