Would you like to be part of creating the next generation of our Welsh speaking society over the next decade?
We are working with the Welsh Immersion Programme which is designed to immerse young people within the Welsh Language with a goal of them leaving Primary Education fluent in Welsh, both written and verbally to continue their education into Secondary School.
The immersion programme will support young people as young as 3 which have come to Wales from anywhere in the world. They will be immersed in the language and provide support in adopting the Welsh culture into their new residence to create a new generation of Welsh Medium.
This is carried out in Primary schools across the Bridgend County Borough, Wales.
The successful applicant will require the following:
- Fluent in both written and verbal in the Welsh Language
- A passion for the Welsh language and education as a whole to develop and give learners a new lifelong skill
- A patient and understanding approach
- Has a willingness to learn. This role will be different to a general Teaching Assistant role – it will be language focused and require tailoring to the young people and their background
- Some experience and capacity working in a school previously – whether this is as a 1:1 support of general. The skillset of knowing how to support and develop a young person is essential
- Not essential, however experience working with children / young people where English is not their first language would be advantageous
The school the programme is situated in is yet to be confirmed. This will be dependant on where the educators live vs where the educators live to find a happy medium and the school closest to all of these factors will be used for the programme.
Teaching Personnel will require the following for vetting: (We can assist you in obtaining the below)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- Education Workforce Council application (EWC)
- Safeguarding Level 2 certification
- 2 valid and standard references completed by previous employment
