SEPTEMBER START

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people's lives? Do you have experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviour, ASD, ADHD, or social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties?

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join a supportive school environment in Penarth, South Wales. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to support pupils aged 7–19 in a dynamic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-to-1 and small group behaviour support to pupils.
  • Assist pupils with academic tasks and promote engagement in the classroom.
  • Support students during break times and lunch, especially during challenging periods.
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Offer personal care support where needed (training provided).
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external specialists.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply.
  • EWC registration or willingness to register.
  • Experience supporting children with behavioural needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASC.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with pupils and staff.
