We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join a supportive school environment in Penarth, South Wales. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to support pupils aged 7–19 in a dynamic educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-to-1 and small group behaviour support to pupils.
- Assist pupils with academic tasks and promote engagement in the classroom.
- Support students during break times and lunch, especially during challenging periods.
- Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Offer personal care support where needed (training provided).
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external specialists.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply.
- EWC registration or willingness to register.
- Experience supporting children with behavioural needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASC.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with pupils and staff.
