Behaviour Support Manager – Secondary Schools – Immediate Start – Newport
Location: Newport, South Wales
Position: Behaviour Support Manager
Start Date: September term 2025
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm
Pay Rate: £110 – £115 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

Teaching Personnel is currently hiring for an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Support Manager to join our partner schools in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils, manage classroom behaviour, and support students in reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a calm, focused learning environment.

Deliver pre-prepared work in the absence of the class teacher.

Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce school expectations.

Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN specialists to support pupil development.

Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs and learning styles.
Essential Qualities and Skills:

Empathy & Patience – essential when working with pupils who have emotional or behavioural challenges.
-
Resilience – able to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
-
Strong Communication – able to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
-
Behaviour Management Expertise – familiarity with strategies and techniques for managing behaviour in the classroom.

Adaptability – able to tailor your support to each student’s unique needs.
Requirements:
-
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (we can assist with the application).
-
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
-
Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
-
Experience working with young people or transferable skills from personal experience or other sectors (e.g., youth work, care, coaching).
