Behaviour Support Manager – Secondary Schools – Immediate Start – Newport

Location: Newport, South Wales
Position: Behaviour Support Manager
Start Date: September term 2025
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm
Pay Rate: £110 – £115 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

Teaching Personnel is currently hiring for an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Support Manager to join our partner schools in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils, manage classroom behaviour, and support students in reaching their full potential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a calm, focused learning environment.

  • Deliver pre-prepared work in the absence of the class teacher.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce school expectations.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN specialists to support pupil development.

  • Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs and learning styles.


Essential Qualities and Skills:

  • Empathy & Patience – essential when working with pupils who have emotional or behavioural challenges.

  • Resilience – able to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.

  • Strong Communication – able to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.

  • Behaviour Management Expertise – familiarity with strategies and techniques for managing behaviour in the classroom.

  • Adaptability – able to tailor your support to each student’s unique needs.


Requirements:

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (we can assist with the application).

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months.

  • Experience working with young people or transferable skills from personal experience or other sectors (e.g., youth work, care, coaching).
