Location: Blaenau Gwent
Start Date: 1st September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting young people’s education and development? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Blaenau Gwent starting this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, working within a friendly and supportive school environment.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum. Working closely with classroom teachers, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted support to individual students, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teaching and supervise learning activities

  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with varying needs

  • Foster positive relationships with students to aid their progress and well-being

  • Promote and encourage positive behaviour and engagement

  • Monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff

  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive learning environment

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a secondary school setting or in a learning support role is highly desirable

  • Skills: Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Personal Qualities: Friendly, empathetic, patient, and proactive

  • Behaviour Support: Experience with de-escalation techniques or working with students with challenging behaviour is a bonus

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
