Location: Newport, Wales
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay: Starting from £89 per day
Start Date: September 2025 (flexible)

We are looking for a Specialist Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join the SEN bases of secondary schools in the vibrant Newport area. This is your chance to be part of a dedicated team supporting a wide variety of SEN students in a nurturing and inclusive environment.


About the Role:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, and more.
  • Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and classroom activities.
  • Help manage behaviour positively and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with the SEN team to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
  • Support students both inside the classroom and in smaller group or one-to-one settings.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Understanding of different learning styles and behaviour management techniques.
  • Commitment to supporting the holistic development of each pupil.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
