Secondary Teaching Assistant – Caerphilly

Location: Caerphilly, South Wales
Pay: £83.85 – £90 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)
Hours: 8:45AM – 3:00 PM
Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about working with young people and supporting their learning journey? Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and reliable Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our partner schools in Caerphilly from September 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with experience in education or childcare settings—whether you’ve previously worked as a teaching assistant, sports coach, youth worker, or in a nursery. Your transferable skills could make you a valuable asset to the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class support to teachers during lessons

• Assist pupils in Key Stages 3 & 4, particularly those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as autism and ADHD

• Support small group activities and supervise students

• Collaborate with the school’s Learning Support Team to monitor and report on progress

• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

• Ensure high standards of safeguarding and student wellbeing

Candidate Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS check (Teaching Personnel can assist with your application)

• Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

• Minimum of *5 GCSEs (A–C)**, including core subjects

• At least two references from recent roles

• Previous experience working with children or young people

• Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
