Job description

Teaching Personnel is currently working with a mainstream school based in Birmingham who are looking for a Teaching Assistant or graduate to work on a 1:1 basis with a male year 7 student for the summer term. The school is situated on the east side of Birmingham, and is a B37 postcode.

The student has recently been statemented with Autism, and would benefit greatly from a 1:1 mentor, who would support him until he get's a place in a specialist school. You will be supporting him throughout the day. Initially, it would be from 10-1 every day, with this increasing to 9-3 once a relationship has been built up.

The successful candidate will have experience working with young people with Autism, or have an adaptive personality and worked with young people in a school setting. You must have a relevant education qualification, or be degree educated. If you are looking for your first role in a school after finishing university, then this role may be perfect. A candidate from a strong sporting background would be ideal. The role is to carry on into the next academic term.

The school are looking to interview the first week back after Easter, and to start ASAP.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
