Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for a tutor to work in the NG7 area with a Year 10 pupil Looked After Child. The student is keen to learn and has a particular interest in undertaking qualifications and career in Childcare.

We are looking for someone to work with this student while she doesn't have a school placement. We are looking for someone to deliver cross-curricular subjects including Maths, English, Science, French, art, cooking, French, Humanities, Childcare.

Ideally, this will be a job share with another of our tutors; therefore we will ideally require someone to work every day for 5 hours (flexible hours)

This role is to start as soon as possible.

Ideal candidates for this role will be:

  • Experienced working on a 1:1 basis with pupils either in schools or as a 1:1 tutor outside of the classroom environment
  • Must have experience supporting students with SEMH and challenging behaviour
  • Experience in planning and delivering cross-curricular subjects including Maths, English and Science
  • Be confident to liaise effectively with the foster carer, schools and other professionals including social workers
  • Able to create engaging, innovative lesson plans to help keep the student motivated as much as possible
  • Be willing to create weekly feedback reports so that progress can be tracked and monitored regularly (please note this is an ESSENTIAL and non-negotiable part of your role as a tutor and you will not be paid without sending weekly feedback reports).
  • Able to be responsible for the safety and welfare of the pupil at all times, in addition to having a strong awareness of Child Protection issues (additional training is desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
