Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work a a Special Educational Needs school that has two sites, one in Boston Spa and one in Meanwood. The school caters to students aged from 2-19 years old who have a range of complex needs such as Autism, Severe Learning Disabilities, Moderate Learning Disabilities, ADHD and more. The school are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting students with their studies who are vulnerable and need extra support.

The role is full time and ongoing, with the option to move to a permanent contract under the school depending on the success of the candidate in that position.

The right candidate must be comfortable with delivering personal care as this may be necessary to your role (in house training and support will be given for this) and must have experience working with people who have complex Special Educational Needs. Having skills and training in Makaton, PECs or BSL and Moving and Handling would be ideal but not necessary.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
