Job description

If you have worked with children or adults with Special needs and/ or would like to work within educational settings, we work with a specialist Autism Provision who are looking for temporary support staff for the final term of the year.

The school caters for both primary and secondary age students, and provides a specifically designed curriculum to suit their needs.

The role will include acting as teaching assistant within he classroom for a range of activities and subjects, ensuring that all students are involved and understanding of the classwork, whilst maintaining positive behaviour and interacting appropriately with peers and staff. Ideally candidates should have some understanding of SEN, specifically Autism, to ensure they are delivering the best support to the students.

The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who is patient and caring towards the student and ensures their comfort and safety is first and foremost. You must have exceptional attention to detail, be conscientious and mindful of the student and their situation, and be able to notice any behaviours and actions which may be a cause for concern.
As a support worker it is imperative that you report any issues to your supervisor which may affect the safety and well-being of the child, which should at all times be your highest priority.

We are open to applications with all types of experience if you believe it is relevant, however all candidates MUST have an enhanced DBS check which is registered to the update service. If you do not already have a DBS, Teaching Personnel can advise on how to obtain one.
