Job description

A Secondary SEN specialist school in Gainsborough is currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to cover a maternity at the school. The school provides education for those from 11 to 18 years, with a range of needs including Autism and Social Emotional Health.

The school is custom built with specific facilities in order to ensure all individual needs are met. Class sizes are much smaller than those in mainstream and often have a maximum of 8 students in any one class. Many students are working to much lower levels, however they do also have some students who are high achieving and working towards their GCSEs. For the most part, the needs include Autism, ADHD, MLD, SEMH and challenging behaviour, however some classes to do have students with PMLD and Physical disabilities.

The ideal Teaching Assistant must have the experience of supporting in schools and SEN experience would be advantageous. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can go in and hit the ground running and be able to interact with the students straight away.
