Job description

Teaching Assistant experienced working with Severe Learning Difficulties wanted!

  • £55-70 per day dependent on experience
  • Comprehensive support from Teaching Personnel through CPD courses at a discounted price
  • Full-time and day to day work available!

Teaching Personnel is the UK's largest education recruitment company. We specialise in placing Teachers and Teaching Assistants in permanent, temporary and day to day roles.

This SEN School in Warwickshire provides specialist learning to children and young people with a wide range of educational difficulties including profound and multiple learning difficulties. The school currently has a vacancy for a SLD Teaching Assistant working full time and starting as soon as possible.

You will be a Teaching Assistant who will be able to support the learning of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will also encourage and facilitate development of physical and social skills by supporting activity based learning both inside and outside of the classroom. This work would be directed, planned and overseen by a qualified teacher from the school.

Experience working with children with Special Needs is desirable but not required. We are predominantly looking for people with a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to go the extra mile for the children you are supporting. If you don’t have experience working with Special Needs, experience working in mainstream education is essential.

If you have a Team Teach or similar Behaviour Management or safeguarding training that would be desirable. You will support pupils with academic learning but also be involved in developing their life skills and have an opportunity to support them in outward-bound type activities.

For more information call Michael on 0116 201 4494 or send your CV to michael.hills@teachingpersonnel. Look forward to hearing from you!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
