Year 3 SEN Teaching Assistant

This 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated Mainstream Primary School are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team in the new academic year. The school is based in Littleborough (OL15) has an enthusiastic team of staff who are committed to improving the learning and development of pupils. A fantastic learning environment is coupled with a nurturing atmosphere to ensure all students are able to make great academic progress alongside gaining confidence and making friends.

To be considered for this SEN Teaching assistant you must be a friendly and approachable professional, who has a history of success in previous roles supporting pupils with additional needs socially and emotionally.

The Successful Candidate will be:

  • Based in the Year 3 class alongside the Class Teacher and an additional General Class TA
  • Expected to aid the pupil to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on a 1:1 basis
  • Expected to promote the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN
  • Expected to encourage pupils to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • A minimum of 1 years' SEND experience with children (paid or voluntary) within the last 3 years
  • The ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm and confident manner
  • Showcase a passion for supporting SEND pupils
