SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP

We are recruiting teaching assistants for a Primary school in Durham. The School have new learners who need additional support to help settle into the classroom environment and also require some one on one focussed time. As the pupils are in Reception they are still undergoing assessments to determine their needs. 

The school is committed to empower their pupils with self-confidence, developing their ability to respect others and themselves. They are looking for a teaching assistant who believes they can support them with this and much more.

The role of a Teaching Assistant in SEN:

  • Providing 1:1 support and or general classroom support to students
  • Encouraging children's confidence, self esteem and independence
  • Supporting children in social activities and play
  • Recognising signs of distress in children and offering reassurance
  • To be able to work between the hours of 8:30-3:30 term time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
