Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school based in Southall.

About the role:

The position available supports a KS1 pupil with an Education Health Care plan, they have complex learning needs that need a positive and dedicated TA to support their development. You will need to have excellent literacy and numeracy skills alongside the ability to build up a strong relationship with the students and adults within the school community. The schools diverse community also makes the ability to speak Punjabi a requirement, emphasising the importance of social acceptance and diversity.

This role will also require you to:

  1. Excellent spoken English.
  2. Conduct Speech and language interventions
  3. Be calm, supportive and have a willingness to adapt

The school aims to enrich their pupils to respect and accept their own heritage and culture, especially the cultures of others. The school requires a teaching assistant to support the ethos of the school, to be caring, to communicate and celebrate as a community.

The school is located in old Southall, accessible from Hayes, Hounslow, Ealing and Acton etc.

The ideal candidate:

  • Makaton trained is desired
  • Experience of working with and supporting children in schools with EHCP with complex learning needs.
  • Strong organisation skills and an ability to maintain accurate and appropriate records
  • Fluent in Punjabi

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
