SEN- Teacher - Team-Teach

Job description

Full time position for an SEN Teacher commencing as soon as possible and running untill the end of the academic year. The role is intially a temporary postion however, this setting do also have permenant postion so Teachers looking for permenant roles are encouraged to apply.

The setting is an outstanding Multi Academy Trust which runs across 3 sites all of which are located in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role will involve planning and delivering lessons that are designed to support and encourage the optimal development of pupils with SEN. Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in applicants with experience of supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour. The ideal Teacher will have experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour and understand how to de-escalate situations.

The ideal Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Team-Teach training
  • A considerable amount of experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Experience working within a special needs setting (preferably school)
  • An in-depth understanding of SEN and the ability to adapt lessons to assure that learning is accessible to all pupils
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with pupils, school support staff, other teachers and parents
