Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Based in Medway

Are you looking for a challenging but rewarding role within SEN as a Teaching Assistant?

Do you have Primary based experience working with children with SEN in SEN Schools? Are you looking for Long term roles for now (depending on schools closures) and September 2020?

If so then this role might be the one for you!

Teaching Personnel require a Teaching Assistant experienced in working with pupils with challenging behaviour to work for a small and nurturing community primary school with an SEN unit attached in Strood catering for a variety of special educational needs.

The position will be to work with pupils aged 3-11years’ supporting them on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will be required to work with pupils who have a wide range of special educational needs including; complex & multiple learning difficulties as well as communication, physical, sensory or behavioural difficulties.

The school and the fantastic team of teaching and support staff aim to encourage the development of all pupils whilst recognising individuality and supporting the development of social, emotional, physical and educational needs.

The Primary Teaching Assistant will need to be:

  • Team-Teach trained (or other relevant)
  • Minimum of 6 months SEN/ SEMH experience in a Primary school environment
  • A compassionate and caring individual with a can-do attitude
  • Committed to the development of all children in the classroom
  • Comfortable and confident in providing personal care and support
  • Able to adapt to all environments
