Job description

A leading independent special school based in Hampstead is looking for 2 Teachers to join their esteemed ranks starting January 2020, intervewing ASAP.

The school is a part of the Child Adult Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Tavistock and Portman NHS foundation trust, providing education to children with SEMH difficulties. They are a small school, supporting 21 children between the ages of 5-14 years old (KS1, 2 and 3), using models of good practice fitting Education, Health and Care plan models.

The school provides well rounded support, incpotating therapists, special nurses and education staff to support learning and development for children from vulnerable backgrounds with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

The school is a welcoming, friednly and purposeful environment, believing that all children are able to progress and achieve with the right support. This is facilitated through theraputic education, supporting children both within the classroom and liasing with clinical staff and families to ensure the wellbeing of their students.

Information about the school and role:

  • Primary/Secondary teacher able to teach at primary level
  • The school has 3 classes, 5-7 children and 2 support staff per class
  • SEMH experienced teachers needed – needs to be confident supporting vulnerable children and social/behavioural needs
  • Flexiblity is a must as you will be teaching across classes and covering PPA
  • Role beginning January 2020

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This will be a temporary position and may go permanent at a later date.
