Science Technician Required in the Sudbury, Suffolk area

Teaching Personnel are excited to offer an opportunity to join a Science department within a Secondary School local to the Sudbury, Suffolk area. The school focus on students being successful and to acheive this staff assist students in their educational journey by providing excellent support across all areas. 

The school require a Science Technician to start ASAP on a long term basis, and could potentially become permanent for the right candidate.

As a Science Technician you will be required to prepare and supply equipment, solutions and materials requested by teachers, making sure to correctly display necessary signs for any hazardous materials. Maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and students is of the upmost importance and due care must be taken at all times. In addition to setting up apparatus before lessons you will be required to wash and clean areas once lessons have ended, repair apparatus when needed, test electrical equipment, undertake regular stock control and support teachers and students in practical lessons.

To be considered for this role you must be / have;

  • A passion for Science and aiding student progress
  • A degree within a Science specialism is preferrred
  • A strong academic background
  • Classroom or tutoring experience with the Science syllabus is an advantage
  • This could be an ideal role for a previous Science Teacher looking to continue a position within education that doesn't involve class teaching
