A 'Good' school in Newcastle are looking for a Religious Studies Teacher to join their team in September 2020 on a temporary basis initally, with a potential for this to eventually become permanent. The role will involve the delivery of high quality sessions, across the age ranges 11-16. It is essential that as this is a specialist role, that:
- You hold QTS in Secondary Schools/Further Education (school will also welcome NQTs and offer to support induction)
- You have experienced teaching Religious Studies to KS4
- You have the ability to builds positive relationships with both pupils and staff, with strong behaviour management
Furthermore:
- It is crucial you are able to effectively deliver the school’s curriculum, whilst being able to independently implement your own strategies and methods to allow students to thrive within the subject
- It is vital that you're able to consistently manage behaviour expectations, as well as working in line with recommendations made by Ofsted and the school's policy
- You will be able to work well within a team environment, and will be motivated and enthusiastic within your approach
- You must be able to display resilience and patience within this role is crucial – naturally, not all students will be as engaged as some. It is also of high importance that you're able to effectively differentiate learning for those with SEN
The role will commence after the Summer break (1st September 2020), and will run until the end of the December initially. It is also important to note that that there may be opportunity for this position to go permanent at some point, for the right candidate. The school has a number of main road links close by, as well as numerous public transport links, making it easily accessible.
PAY - opportunity to earn between GBP550-850 per week. After 12 weeks there will be full compliance with AWR (Agency Workers’ Regulations) and you will receive the pay and working conditions you are entitled to.
