Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Day-to-Day & Full-Time
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £80 – £95 a day
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Temp-to-perm
Start Date: Immediate starts available | Full-time roles from September 2025


Job Summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of primary and secondary schools in Bournemouth and throughout Dorset.

We’re currently experiencing high demand for day-to-day supply staff, with long-term and full-time positions starting in September 2025. Whether you're an experienced TA or just beginning your career in education, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN (including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)

  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and behaviour support

  • Implement tailored strategies and learning interventions

  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in schools, youth work, or care settings)

  • Patience, adaptability, and a calm manner

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us)

Desirable:

  • TA qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3)

  • Team Teach or equivalent behaviour management training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
