SEN Teaching Assistant Wanted – Bournemouth Area

Are you a passionate, experienced, and dedicated individual with a genuine desire to support children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in the Bournemouth area.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with additional needs access a full and rewarding education. You’ll work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, ensuring that each child thrives in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN

  • Assist with personal care and behavioural support where required

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and activities

  • Help create an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment

  • Work with parents, staff, and outside agencies to monitor and track student progress

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant (SEN experience preferred)

  • A caring, empathetic approach to working with children

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

  • A positive, proactive attitude and a passion for helping children succeed

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
