Role Information

Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £92.63 – £95 per day
Location: Bournemouth

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bournemouth from September 2026.

This rewarding role will see you working within a Key Stage 1 (KS1) classroom, supporting pupils with their learning and development. You will help children stay engaged with their work, assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and contribute to the smooth running of the classroom. Some pupils may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEND), meaning there may also be opportunities to provide 1:1 support.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Assist children in accessing the curriculum and achieving their full potential.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Provide additional support to pupils who require targeted interventions or 1:1 assistance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Empathetic, patient, and compassionate.
  • Able to commit to a full-time Monday – Friday role.
  • Experienced working within a KS1 setting or with primary-aged children.
  • Passionate about making a positive difference to children's education.

Requirements

To apply for this role, you will need:

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Relevant experience working within a school setting, or a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • The right to work in the UK.

Please note: If you do not currently hold a DBS, Teaching Personnel can support you with the application process. Applicants will be required to cover the associated costs.
