Join a popular secondary school in South Manchester, seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor on a full-time basis. This exciting opportunity is open to any candidates experienced in providing academic or SEN support to students aged 11-16.

We also welcome applications from recent graduates looking to gain experience within the education sector.

Highlights of this Learning Mentor position;

• Full time post commencing March 2020
• Supporting students with a variety of needs to improve academic success, student self-esteem and confidence
• GBP1300 - GBP1400 per month
• Ofsted ‘Good’ graded secondary school, located in South Manchester accessible from the city centre and A57

The successful candidate will work closely with students across years 7 – 11 providing support to variety of students including those with Special Educational Needs. This will include a variety of additional needs such as behavioural, emotional and/or social problems. As a Learning Mentor, candidates will be responsible for providing academic and emotional support through the school day both inside and outside of the classroom.

The role will include identifying and targeting students to mentor throughout the academic year who may be under performing, and offering them support both in and out of the classroom. We are looking for a passionate candidate who will work closely with students and staff to improve students’ self-esteem, confidence, and academic potential.

Experience of working with young people within an education setting is desirable. We welcome applications from graduates who are keen to gain experience within a school and are looking to start a career in education.
