Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in the Birmingham area, seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is eager to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with a range of needs — including autism (ASC), ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The role is ideal for anyone considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a variety of special educational needs.

• Assist teachers in delivering creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning goals.

• Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and social interaction through positive reinforcement and consistent care.

• Support pupils with emotional regulation, daily routines, and sensory needs.

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure every pupil achieves their best possible outcomes.

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and progress reports where required.

About You

• A recent graduate (any discipline considered – Psychology, Education, or related subjects advantageous).

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

• An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
