SEN Teaching Assistant – Making a Difference Every Day

About the Role
We’re looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant. In this rewarding role, you’ll support children with a variety of special educational needs, helping them to engage in learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff to deliver personalised learning support, and foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.

• Encourage pupils to develop self-regulation, independence, and positive relationships.

• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to suit individual learning styles.

• Promote emotional wellbeing, confidence, and resilience through positive reinforcement.

• Support behaviour management in a calm, consistent, and empathetic manner.

• Collaborate effectively with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure every child receives the right support.

• Contribute to creating a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment where children thrive.

Requirements

• Willing to complete a DBS check (or provide an up-to-date certificate).

• Able to provide two professional references.

• Proof of right to work in the UK.
