Job description

Do you have experience working with children with special educational needs?

Have you previously worked as a teaching assistant or in a supportive role within a school?

The team at Teaching Personnel are in partnership with a mainstream secondary school based in B27 to appoint a specialist teaching assistant on a full time basis to start ASAP!

 

Hours: Full time, Mon- Fri (08:30-15:15)

Rate of Pay: £90-95 per day

Location: Birmingham, B27

 

Requirements:

- Previous experience as a TA/LSA or a supportive role within a school

- Previous experience within a childcare role

- Worked with or previously supported children and young people with special educational needs

- Vast understanding of SEN and SEMH and have the knowledge on how to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with these children

- Be a calm yet confident individual who thrives to be the best they can be

 

You will be responsible for:

- Supporting children with SEN and SEMH within the school

- Working on a 1:1 and small group basis with children who require additional support

- Providing interventions for children to help them get the best academic outcomes

- Working in collaboration with the class teacher to ensure each individual within the class is getting the most out of their learning

- Engaging with teachers and other staff members when discussing children's ECHPs and develop strategies on how you can support those children, moving forward

- Being a general help and support around the classroom and school as a whole, ensuring you are approachable, friendly and professional

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
