Teacher of Design Technology - Engineering, Construction or Resistant Materials Teacher
Reporting to: Head of Design Technology
Location: Scarborough
Contract: Temporary, with the possibility of leading to Permanent
Working Pattern: Part Time or Full Time
Salary: Daily Rate starting from GBP130 per day according to experience and qualifications
GBP33,800 - GBP51,740 pro rata salary
The Role
You will be an important part of the Design Technology team at a Post 16 College in Scarborough. The College provides a clear line of sight to work and careers and it is their aim to put a relentless focus on quality in teaching and to do so in a high-quality environment so that they deliver an excellent outcome for every student.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach well-structured, differentiated lessons that are aligned to the agreed curriculum and cultivate every student’s intellectual curiosity
- Use data to inform teaching and learning, identify areas for intervention and provide feedback to students, follow staff members and families in order to promote progress and outcomes
- Manage behaviour effectively to create a safe, respectful and nurturing environment so that students can focus on learning
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and network colleagues as a committed team member
- Participate actively throughout the network, by attending relevant meetings
- Work with colleagues, students and families to develop a strong and diverse community within the College

- Part of an OFSTED graded Outstanding College Group
- Flexibility to work on a permanent contract or through the Agency; Full Time or Part Time
- Liaise with colleagues and external contacts at all levels of seniority with confidence, tact and diplomacy
- Work with the UK's Leading Education Recruitment Agency, Teaching Personnel, with a dedicated Consultant to offer support, assistance and guidance throughout your placement(s)
Qualification Criteria
- Qualified to teach and work in the UK, holding QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Degree in Design Technology or related subject
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable commitment to raising attainment of all pupils in a challenging classroom environment
- Excellent understanding of both subject and general teaching pedagogy
- Be or demonstrate the potential to become an outstanding teacher
- Mastery of and enthusiasm for Design Technology
- Effective and systematic behaviour management
- Knowledge of the national Secondary Education system or National Vocational Qualifications, examinations and curriculum
