Job description

Position: Teacher of Religious Education.

Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire.

Start date: September 2024.

Contract length: Initially until April 2025, with the potential to extend.

Teaching Personnel are excited to advertise for a Teacher of RE at an Ofsted rated “GOOD” Secondary school in the BB4 area of Rawtenstall, Lancashire.

This post is suitable for ECT’s looking to gain valuable experience or for experienced practitioners looking for a new challenge.

Your core duties:

  • Setting high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Promoting good progress and outcomes by pupils (being accountable for pupils’ attainment, being aware of pupil’s capabilities and their prior knowledge).
  • Demonstrating good subject and curriculum knowledge, exhibiting a critical understanding of developments in your subject and curriculum area.
  • Plan and teach well structured lessons, promoting a love of learning and children’s intellectual curiosity.
  • Managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.

The successful candidate should:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Have previous experience delivering Religious Education across KS3/4.
  • Have excellent communication skills and classroom organisation.
  • Be hard-working, committed, and enthusiastic.
