Cover Supervisor - Oldham

Are you looking to work in a secondary school in Oldham? Are you experienced or want to gain experience of covering a range of lessons?

Teaching Personnel, the market leader of education recruitment in the UK, are currently working alongside one of our partner secondary schools in Oldham who are looking to recruit a full time Cover Supervisor. This role has an immediate start for the perfect candidate, and is an exciting opportunity to join a successful school with a friendly and inclusive environment.

  • Full time Cover Supervisor role with an immediate start for the perfect candidate
  • Ofsted graded 'Good' school in Oldham
  • Earn up to £1200 per month
  • Excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career within education to gain paid classroom experience

Our partner school is located in the Greenfield area of Oldham, and currently is the school of choice for over 1200 students from the surrounding areas of Mossley, Saddleworth, Lees and the villages of Delph and Diggle. Due to years of consistently good GCSE results and strong, consecutive Ofsted inspections, this popular mixed comprehensive secondary school is currently oversubscribed. Located in between Oldham town centre and Tameside, the school is easily accessible from the M60 motorway and also boasts good public transport links.

"We are looking to appoint an experienced Cover Supervisor to support the teaching and learning of our students. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working and have good behaviour management skills. You will work closely with the Cover Manager and the team to ensure that lessons are covered and strong teaching and learning is maintained through times of staff absence." Headteacher.

As a Cover Supervisor at our partner school, responsibilities will include:

  • Providing classroom management of students in the absence of a teaching member of staff.
  • To liaise with appropriate Heads of Department on work to be set for classes and on any behavioural matters.
  • To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with the teachers' lesson plans.
  • Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are completing work to ensure a constructive environment.
  • Deal with any immediate problems according to the school's policies and procedures.
  • Collect completed work after the lesson and pass to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Report, as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures, on the behaviour of pupils during the class and on any problems arising.
  • Registering attendance in accordance with school policy.
