Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant

Job description

I am looking for Teaching Assistant who specialises or has experience working with Mild to Severe Autism to work at a fantastic school in Barton. The individual itself would need their own transport and would also need an Adult and Child workforce DBS on the update service.

The school itself is a specialist provision which caters for student’s aged 8 to 19 years old and it offers each student a programme which encourages the development of academic, vocational, social and life skills specifically designed to enable a move towards more independent living.

The Role:

  • Assisting in the delivery of lessons plans to the National
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups
  • Creating and developing Individual Education Plans
  • Adhere to the schools values of being compassionate, adaptable and dynamic
  • Residential care
  • Work with specifically design classrooms and equipment for Autism

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with Autism or SEMH
  • Previous Teaching Assistant or Care Assistant experience desirable
  • The ability to deal with challenging behaviour
  • Own mode of  transport
  • Have or be able to apply for a Child and Adult workforce DBS (we can assist with the application)
