Autism Specialist LSA

Teaching personnel are searching for an Autism Specialist Learning Support Assistant for a role in a highly touted Stockport secondary school.

The role will begin on February 22nd as a permanent position.

The role will be providing dedicated support for a year 7, male student with level 2 autism, they require substantial support with difficulties in verbal and nonverbal social communication, change in routine and developing relationships with peers. You will be providing 1:1 support for the student, periods 1-3 will be in the SEN provision of the school in which you will be supporting the student individually within a small group session. Periods 4-6 the student will be integrated in regular lessons, so you will be sat with him in the classroom ensuring he feels comfortable and completes work effectively.

The ideal candidate should have experience working with secondary aged students with Special Educational Needs and/or Autism, any relevant safeguarding or autism specific qualifications are beneficial. Anyone with experience with working with Autistic children outside of the school environment i.e., caring, family would also be considered. It’s essential to have a warm and personable demeanour to help the student develop socially.

  • Earn between GBP1200 - GBP1350 per week depending on experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
