Job description

A Pupil Referral Unit in Bournemouth are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team.

Admission to this school is achieved through a number of routes. As a specialist provision for children with emotional, social and/or mental health needs, thy can be named as the school of choice on an Education Health Care Plan, formerly known as a Statement of Special Educational Needs.

In addition, they run an Alternative Provision. Pupils are referred to them for fixed-term exclusion packages from Day 6 (or earlier by agreement) from their mainstream school.

The nature of this role is challenging so it is essential you have experience of working with children or adults who present challenging behaviour.

Currently, the school are looking for staff to work long term and on a daily supply basis so whether you are looking for full time or part time work, we will have something that suits you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
