Teaching Assistant

Are you a Teaching Assistant or support worker looking for a new role withing an SEN School?

This SEN provision based in Nottingham City provides excellent education for children requiring extra support, who have not coped within mainstream education. You will be working closely with small groups of children with Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties in addition to those with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties, providing a creative learning environment.

The perfect candidate….

  • A sincere and empathetic individual
  • Psychology/Creative/Music/Art/Sports/Educational Degree
  • To have knowledge of SEN school environments or Alternative Provisions
  • Be able to work with those who have complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Have passion for the child succeeding both academically and socially
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Youth Offending Service experience
  • Support/Care Work experience
  • Experience in assisting people with social, emotional and mental health issues (either within a work or a personal environment)
  • Team Teach trained (desirable but not essential)

Candidates wishing to apply for this role must be available full ltime between Monday to Friday (08:30 – 15:30).

You will also have the unique opportunity of completing additional training to increase your knowledge and skill set. Training such as Autism Awareness and Team Teach are available through our CPD Academy.
