Full Time Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant needed in Truro

Teaching Personnel are looking for a SENTA to work from September time, on a full-time basis.

As an SEN Support Assistant you’re main responsibilities will be to:

  • Work 1:1 with a child with special educational needs (ASC)
  • Assist both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Liaise with parents, and other professionals to provide the best opportunities for children
  • Work alongside the teacher and SENCO to engage and encourage the students to learn
  • Create exciting initiatives to promote learning to the children
  • Support any additional needs or wants a child may have (personal / social)
  • Helping to set achievable targets with the student

You will be required to have:

  • A background in supporting SEN but this can be personal experience
  • A creative approach to lessons as you may be required to adapt a task
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour in a calm manner
  • Confidence in assisting children throughout the day
  • An enthusiastic attitude to getting involved in Extra - Curriculum activities
  • References from your two most recent workplaces (this can be voluntary roles)
  • A child DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
  • A full UK Driving Licence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
