Teaching Assistant

Job description

We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to work for 20 hours a week in a primary setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real difference to children's development, supporting and encouraging them as they strive to achieve their goals.

You will work within the 7-11 age range (Key Stage 2); supporting learning in small groups and at times working 1:1 with a child to offer additional support. Some experience of working with children with ASD/Behaviour issues would be an advantage for the successful candidate but training can also be provided.

It is essential that you have a good standard of English (written and spoken) and Maths to be successful and GCSE's at grade C or above is preferred. We are seeking a good team player who has a friendly, caring rapport with children.

The school is located in Truro and has been graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted. It is a large school and you will be working closely with the class Teacher and other Teaching assistants to ensure the children are positively effected by the support they receive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This will be a temporary position and may go permanent at a later date.
