Job description

Would you like the opportunity to work in an amazing provision supporting secondary aged pupils who have various needs but mainly Autism?

Successful candidates will be part of a close run house, working closely with team members and pupils alike to create a homely and family feel for the residents.

Shifts (variable but on average of 40 hours per week on a termly rota)

  • Monday – Friday (Dependent on House group needs but as a rough guide):
    • Early shifts 7.30 – 15:00
    • Late shifts 14.30 – 22:00
  • Saturday and Sunday (Dependent on house group needs and needs of the school but as a rough guide):
    • Early: 8am-5pm
    • Late: 1pm-10pm

Some staff work one shift every weekend some staff work two shifts every other weekend.

  • 39 working weeks per year (38 weeks of term time plus 5 days of training)
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday
  • Equivalent starting salary GBP15,164.00 — divided equally over 12 months regardless of how many hours are worked as long as expected hours are completed (1450 hours per year)
  • Payment monthly in arrears on the 10th of the month (“e.g. pay will be received 10th November for hours worked in October”)
  • Regular supervisions - more often during probation and an annual appraisal on your anniversary of joining

  • Induction training includes classroom training on behaviour support, child development and ASD
  • On-line training modules to be completed within one month of starting (refresher training annually)
