Sports Coach, Rochdale

Job description

Full time Sports Coach required for an immediate start for long term position, supporting pupils on a 1:1 and group basis assisting in their development in Sport and Physical Education.

We would welcome applicants from experienced Sports Coaches as well as those who have previous experience in a similar capacity, such as those who have worked within a school or who have supported young people in a different capacity. This would also be an excellent opportunity for those who have a Sport or Physical Education qualification or any graduates wanting to seek further experience in a secondary school environment before enrolling on a PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme.

As a Sports Coach your day will be varied as you adapt to the differentiating school day as well as the individual needs of each pupil. This is a very rewarding role where you will play a major part in the development of these young people as you assist them with technical and emotional development. Due to the job role of a Sports Coach within secondary schools, you should have a strong understanding of safeguarding and be able to implement strong behaviour management strategies, although full support will be given.

  • Full time position as a Sports Coach, starting at the earliest convenience.
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and group basis within the PE department
  • Paid a competitive wage dependent on your experience and responsibilities
  • Access to further training and development opportunities

You will be working within a large modern secondary school in the Rochdale area located close to major public transport links to Manchester city centre. It is highlighted in the most recent Ofsted report that the SLT have strong plans in future for the school, with this vision being shared and supported by the staff. The school have recently had a huge investment, resulting in excellent facilities for teaching and learning and the results of this can be seen in the schools improving GCSE results.
