£90 - 100 per day

Job description

Are you considering a career in teaching? Do you want hands-on experience in a secondary school setting?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to support a number of secondary schools across Salford, Bolton and Bury starting from September 2025. This role offers fantastic insight into school life and is ideal for graduates or individuals exploring a future in education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher. You’ll help keep pupils focused and engaged during their learning and ensure that the lesson runs smoothly. Managing behaviour calmly and effectively in line with school policies will be an important part of the role. You’ll also have the opportunity to build positive relationships with both staff and students while gaining valuable experience across a variety of subjects and classroom environments.

We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills and a confident presence in the classroom. Previous experience working with young people – whether in education, youth work, mentoring, or coaching – is highly valued. A proactive and positive attitude is essential, along with the confidence to manage a class independently. While a degree-level qualification is desirable, it is not essential. Above all, we are seeking candidates who have a genuine interest in education and working with young people.

What we offer

  • Flexible day-to-day or full-time opportunities to suit your availability

  • Competitive weekly pay

  • Ongoing training and support

  • A potential route into teacher training or other long-term roles

  • Valuable experience that strengthens future PGCE/teacher training applications

If you're ready to gain experience in the classroom, inspire young people, and take the first step toward a teaching career, we'd love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
