SEN Teaching Assistants's needed for next academic year!

Job description

Teaching Personnel is working with a large SEN school based in Warwickshire, who are currently looking for a number of teaching assistants to work at the school on both a part-time and full-time basis from September.

The school caters for a variety of pupils, where the difficulties range from moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, profound and multiple difficulties and associated complex needs. The school caters for pupils 11-16, and the class sizes are normally around 6-10, depending on which class you are in.

The role will involve working in collaboration with the Classroom Teacher to support the ongoing development of pupils with SEN. Ideally the Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working within a special needs setting (highly desirable)
  • An in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and assuring that learning is accessible to all pupils
  • A commitment to assuring the optimal development of pupils with complex needs
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, however not essential
  • Basic knowledge of Makaton or PECs would be desirable

Any additional CPD training such as Team-Teach wiould be great.

There are a variety of roles available, some starting as soon as possible.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
