SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Cardiff

Pay: GBP60-65 a day

Start date: Monday 22nd February, Temporary (until the end of the academic year)

A large mainstream Primary school in North Cardiff are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in their SEN base on a full-time basis. They are seeking a person with the following criteria:

  • At least 3 months experience working with children with Special Educational Needs – this does not have to be in the classroom (i.e., backgrounds in care and sports will also be considered) however, it is preferred
  • Training or qualifications related to Special Educational Needs and/or childcare (I.e., Autism awareness, CACHE Level 3). This is not mandatory if you have the relevant experience but will further support your application.
  • Flexible, positive, and caring nature

Additional criteria that will support your application:

  • Two professional references relating to childcare
  • EWC registration and a child-only DBS on the update service (Teaching Personnel can assist with this if needed)
  • Right to work in the UK

Working through Teaching Personnel:

Teaching Personnel are in partnerships with many schools across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. This means that the schools approach Teaching Personnel for all their recruitment needs (e.g., vacancies, long-term and short-term cover). This position is currently on a temporary basis to cover a long-term sickness of a permanent staff member.
