SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT - SHEFFIELD

 

Teaching Personnel's Specialist SEN branch in Sheffield are looking for a number of Support Staff with ASD experience to work in a school setting close to the centre of Sheffield.

The successful candidates will have experience working with a child or group of children with ASD and complex needs and will usually be required to work full time (although part-time positions within the school are available) on an ongoing supply basis.ASD experience is essential.

 

Teaching Personnel are looking for a candidate who:

• Has experience working with a child or group of children with ASD within a UK school/childcare setting for AT LEAST 6 months within the last 3 years

• Has experience with PECS, Makaton and Team Teach (desirable but not essential)

• Is passionate about the role and is willing to go above and beyond to see the children succeed

• Can work in a variety of different settings - including on a 1:1 basis with a child or a group of children with SEN

• Is able to assist pupils with personal care and toileting

 

Teaching Personnel Requirements;

• All candidates must be energetic, motivated, with a commitment to show patience, adaptability and responsibility throughout the duration of your assignment.

• You must show initiative and the ability to work confidently on your own as well as being able to work as part of a large team.

• You must be able to provide referees who will be able to comment on your experience, suitability for the role and safeguarding from your last two working roles.

• Candidates will be appointed subject to an enhanced DBS check, children's barred list check and Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) checks.

• You MUST have ASD experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
