SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

We are looking for Teaching Assistants with experience working with Children or Adults that have Special Educational Needs. 

The SEN School is based in the High Peak area and caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 with a range of Special Educational Needs. These needs include: Severe Learning Difficulties; Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, including complex medical needs; Autism; and Challenging Behaviour.

Rated GOOD by OFSTED we are looking for Teaching Assistants that can work at this School on day to day, flexible basis. 

The ideal candidate: 

  • Experience with SEN - such as Autism or Challenging Behaviour 
  • Comfortable to work on a 1:1 basis with students, or to support a whole class 
  • Knowledge of Makaton and PECs 
  • Available at least 3 days a week between the hours of 8:30 - 15:30 
  • A background in education - such as working previously working in School, Youth Work or a Residential Home

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
